Aruma Resources Ltd (ASX:AAJ) has pegged the Carter Well Gold Project in Western Australia, adding the 294 square kilometre greenfield tenure to its suite of gold assets.
The Carter Well Project (Exploration Licence Application E58/590) is 75 kilometres east of Mt Magnet and north of the Windimurra Intrusive Complex.
Aruma believes the project sits on the same host rocks as the nearby Windsor and Paynesville gold mines, located on a major east-west trending dolerite dyke with intruding greenstones.
So far, the project has demonstrated similar characteristics to Aruma’s sediment-hosted gold model but the company intends to conduct on-ground fieldwork and drill targeted to confirm the geology as soon as the exploration licence has been granted.

Aruma is targeting greenstone geology due to its recent exploration success at the Salmon Gyms Gold Project near Norseman in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, where it reported bonanza gold intersections of 5 metres at 50.2 g/t from 42 metres, including 3 metres at 83 g/t from 42 metres.
As stated, Aruma’s research has identified Carter Wells as a new greenfields gold opportunity on a dolerite dyke with intruding greenstones.
Magnetic data suggests the presence of folded volcanics under laterite cover, a promising geological indication that mirrors the host rocks of the nearby Windows and Paynesville gold mines.
The project was previously drilled by Chevron looking for uranium in 1974, but no gold assays were taken.
Overall, Aruma believes the highly prospective geology and promising magnetic data of the Carter Well Gold Project will make it a solid addition to its portfolio of gold projects.
