Tesla to pause production in China and Germany, reports

Tesla did not mention these plans in its latest production and delivery statements

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) will pause production at its plants in both Shanghai and Germany for several weeks.

The electric-car maker will halt production on its Model Y for the first two weeks in July, sources told Bloomberg.

Then, in mid-July, production for its Model 3 vehicle will stop for nearly 20 days, as upgrade work at the factory to boost output takes place, and is expected to finish by early August.

According to TeslaMag, a German Tesla news website, the plant in Berlin will take a two-week break from 11 July.

The report from TeslaMag, which was released yesterday, said that the company aims to double its production rate from August, citing an unidentified source.

Tesla did not mention these plans in its latest production and delivery statements, but rather talked up producing more vehicles than ever last June, while just falling short of analysts’ delivery estimates.
