Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has been hit with a new lawsuit by 15 Black workers claiming racial abuse and harassment.
It comes eight months after a jury awarded US$137mln to a former Tesla factory worker in a racial discrimination case.
The new complaint alleges workers of colour were insulted with slurs and racially prejudiced remarks, given the hardest assignments, and denied promotion at the plant in Fremont, California, reports Reuters.
Tesla's "standard operating procedures include blatant, open and unmitigated race discrimination," further alleges the complaint.
At least 10 lawsuits have been filed against the electric carmaker alleging widespread race discrimination or sexual harassment, including one by a California civil rights agency.
The company has denied such allegations in the past. Last Monday saw a judge whittle down the huge October award to US$15mln, sparking a new trial.
After a Black former factory worker who accused the company of race discrimination turned down a US$15mln award from Tesla, a federal judge in California ordered a new trial last week on damages the company owes him.
An investor also filed a lawsuit last month against Tesla boss Elon Musk and the company's board of directors accusing them of ignoring worker complaints and creating a toxic workplace culture.
Earlier, its workplace conditions were again under review by the state of California.
