Infield Minerals set to drill Desperado gold-silver project in Nevada, ends option for M1 property

A 2021 geophysical survey on the high-grade Desperado project identified more than 40 anomalous IP trends

Infield Minerals Corp said it is zeroing in on its drill-ready, high-grade gold-silver Desperado property in Nevada, where a 2021 geophysical survey has identified more than 40 anomalous IP trends.

"The compelling targets that have come out of our work at Desperado over the past year make it the clear priority for our exploration focus in 2022 and we look forward to drill testing Desperado in the coming weeks,” Evandra Nakano, CEO of Infield, said in a statement.

The decision to focus on Desperado comes as the Vancouver-based company announced the termination of its option agreement with Mercury Exploration Nevada Inc on the M1 property in Nevada.

Infield said that it decided to discontinue exploration activities on the property following its assessment of exploration results received in 2021 and 2022.

"At an early exploration stage, it's important to direct our resources to where we see the greatest potential for discovery success,” Nakano said. “As such, we have shifted focus from the M1 property to the Desperado property after having advanced Desperado through systematic exploration to a drill-ready status.”

Infield will continue to carry out its reclamation obligations on the M1 property and expects to complete the reclamation work later this year.
