BioLargo Inc (OTCQB:BLGO) has told investors that its engineering subsidiary has been hired by Seattle-based energy innovation firm Ultra Safe Nuclear to help produce the first prototype fuel production systems for the latter's revolutionary new Micro Modular Reactor (MMR).
Ultra Safe Nuclear has invented a fourth-generation modular nuclear reactor, which can deliver safe, zero-carbon, cost-effective energy anywhere.
The MMR uses ceramic-encapsulated nuclear fuel, namely fully ceramic micro-encapsulated (FCM), which is a stable fuel with extraordinarily high temperature stability.
BioLargo Engineering has been retained to provide engineering design support, fabrication, and integration for the prototype fuel production systems. It has been contracted for work in the range of a half million US dollars, to be completed over several months.

BioLargo also highlighted in the release that Ultra Safe has recently opened a facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and reports that it will invest around US$13 million in the local community.
