Red River Resources fields strong Liontown zinc equivalent results as resource delineation drilling increases confidence

The company will continue resource delineation and extensional drilling at the satellite Liontown deposit over the next 12 months to increase confidence in the mineral resource.

Red River Resources Ltd (ASX:RVR) has received encouraging results from ongoing mineral resource delineation drilling at Liontown deposit, part of its Thalanga Operations in northern Queensland.

Recent zinc equivalent assays from the drilling program include:

  • 5.9 metres at 11.8% zinc equivalent from 280.2 metres downhole;
  • 2.3 metres at 15.7% from 339 metres;
  • 3.7 metres at 9.0 % from 263.6 metres; and
  • 6.5 metres at 15.2% from 201.0 metres.

Looking ahead, Red River will continue resource delineation and extensional drilling at Liontown over the next 12 months to increase confidence in the mineral resource.

Drill program

Red River is undertaking the resource delineation drilling to increase confidence in the Liontown resource, as it plans to develop this as the third deposit at the Thalanga Operations.

The drilling aims to reduce the drill spacing across the indicated and inferred areas of the current resource of 4.1 million tonnes at 0.6% copper, 1.9% lead, 5.9% zinc, 1.1 g/t gold and 29 g/t silver for 12.7% zinc equivalent.

Drilling will progress from targeting the main Lode and gap areas to the Western Footwall area and towards the end of the program, the Liontown East area.

Consequently, this will build confidence and allow the upgrade of inferred mineral resources to the indicated classification.

Forward plan

Red River will mobilise an additional diamond drill rig in July to increase drilling at Liontown and test exploration targets.

Four holes completed in the upper central area of the Liontown Main Lode are awaiting assays.

Furthermore, Liontown will begin construction as soon as relevant approvals are gained.
