Cooper Metals Ltd (ASX:CPM) has identified several electromagnetic conductors potentially favourable for iron-sulphide copper-gold (ISCG) mineralisation in its maiden airborne electromagnetic survey over the Mt Isa East Copper-Gold Project in Queensland.
The versatile time domain electromagnetic (VTEM) survey doubled the prospective length of the Python conductor to about 700 metres long and identified a subparallel conductor 250 metres to the northeast.
Python and its parallel 500-metre twin conductor sit within a northwest-trending regional fault, which Cooper believes could be a structural control hosting copper-gold mineralisation.
The survey also highlighted multiple other conductors for follow-up investigation, with several hosted along structures and lithologies Cooper considers favourable for hosting ISCG mineralisation.

“The VTEM Max survey has identified multiple anomalies at the Mt Isa East Project worthy of follow up,” Cooper Metals managing director Ian Warland said.
“We are particularly excited about the VTEM response over the Python conductor that doubles the length of the original FLEM (fixed-loop electromagnetic) anomaly and has identified a new subparallel conductor to the northeast of around 500 metres in length.
“This is the first detailed airborne electromagnetic survey over this tenure and this new dataset is a significant step forward for continuing to build a pipeline of copper-gold targets at the Mt Isa East Project.
“Ground truthing of the conductors has commenced and we will provide updates to the market as results come to hand.”
