Progressive Planet Solutions Inc (TSX-V:PLAN) has announced that its bestselling product Activated Barn Fresh has been approved for use in Canadian organic production.
Activated Barn Fresh, a poultry litter ammonia control product, appeared in the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) Canada Products List, confirming it can be used in certified organic production in accordance with the Canadian Organic Standards, Progressive Planet told shareholders.
The product is the only organic-appropriate acidifier used to reduce ammonia in commercial broiler barns, according to Kamloops-based Progressive Planet.

"Canadians consume more chicken than any other meat protein, and to fill that demand Canadian producers raise more than 750 million chickens each year,” CEO Steve Harpur said in a statement.
"As farming intensity increases, producers need new tools to keep their birds healthy while also mitigating environmental impacts both inside and outside the barn. Activated Barn Fresh does just that and as a result is our top-selling product."
The company also said that its Fresh Coop Odour Control appeared in the OMRI list as of June 9. Fresh Coop is a deodorizer specifically for backyard chicken coops that eliminates harmful ammonia odours, resulting in a safer environment.
