Race Oncology Ltd (ASX:RAC)'s Dr Daniel Tillett speaks with Proactive's Andrew Scott after the company reported positive final results from its preclinical melanoma research program. The program explored using Race's Zantrene® cancer treatment candidate in novel drug combinations to combat immunotherapy and drug-resistant melanomas using cell and mouse models. Race had previously demonstrated Zantrene’s effectiveness as a standalone treatment to combat melanoma subtypes, but the combination with BRAF and MEK protein kinase inhibitors has exhibited a marked improvement in the treatment’s ability to kill human melanoma cells.
