Tietto Minerals Ltd (ASX:TIE) has materially expanded the gold footprint of the Abujar Shear within its Abujar Gold Project in Côte D’Ivoire by 4.6 kilometres of previously undrilled strike.
Drilling struck gold intersections of up to 1-metre at 47.35 g/t gold from 258 metres, with other results of note including:
- 1-metre at 25.14 g/t from 26 metres;
- 0.93 metres at 17.67 g/t from 24 metres; and
- 6 metres at 2.66 g/t from 190 metres, including 5 metres at 3.02 g/t.
These results come from 77 diamond drilled holes over 15,307.5 metres, intended to grow the mineral gold resource for the project. Tietto will incorporate the results in its next mineral resource estimate (MRE) update.
Six diamond drills are actively drilling on site, set to drill more than 100,000 metres this calendar year. Assays from infill holes drilled at AG South and AG Core are still pending.
Program has confirmed “growth potential”
“Our exploration team has added a 4.6-kilometre strike extension from shallow step-out drilling at five prospects located up and down strike from high-grade gold mineralisation at AG Core,” Tietto managing director Dr Caigen Wang said.
“This drilling program was designed to allow for further increases to our open pit gold resource inventory in the next MRE update later in calendar year 2022.
“This program has confirmed the growth potential of the main Abujar Shear to add further ounces to our resource base.
“We are fully funded to production at Abujar, which has potential to be one of the largest gold-producing mines in Côte d’Ivoire, with an expected production of more than 260,000 ounces of gold in the first year and 1.2 million ounces of gold in the first six years.
“Tietto has an experienced team on board to deliver Abujar on time and on budget. We are on track to deliver another mineral resource update this year.
“Shareholders can expect further updates from our aggressive diamond drilling program as we advance our dual strategy of ‘Drill and Build’ and develop our Abujar Project into West Africa’s next gold mine, with first gold by the end of the fourth quarter of this calendar year.”
Tietto expects to release an updated Life of Mine (LOM) production plan for the Abujar Gold Project early in the third quarter of this year.
