Radiopharm Theranostics’ next-generation imaging data presented at Sixth World Theranostics Conference

The results concluded that Ga-68-Trivehexin is a promising non-invasive molecular imaging agent for certain head, neck and pancreatic tumours, with the potential to replace 18F-FDG as the standard-of-care radiotracer.

Radiopharm Theranostics Ltd (ASX:RAD) has made a poster presentation featuring its AVβ6-Integrin technology at the Sixth World Theranostics Conference being held in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The focus of the event is the field of nuclear medicine and the conference has become a key forum for discussion of new developments in theranostics and radiomolecular precision medicine.

Head and neck, pancreatic cancer

The poster featuring AVβ6-Integrin was titled 'Incremental value of 68Ga-Trivehexin PET/CT over 18F-FDG PET/CT in patients of Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma'.

It showcased data from a 17-patient study aimed at assessing the incremental value of Ga-68-Trivehexin PET/CT when compared to 18F-FDG PET/CT in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

The results concluded that Ga-68-Trivehexin is a promising non-invasive molecular imaging agent for tumours expressing AVβ6-Integrins, with the potential to replace 18F-FDG as the standard-of-care radiotracer.

“Practically no uptake in surrounding tissue”

The non-invasive molecular imaging agent Ga-69-Trivehexin showed a favourable tumour-to-background contrast compared to the standard 18F-FDG PET/CT, providing sharper images and practically no uptake in surrounding normal tissue.

The study was conducted by Subha Shankar Das and his team at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, India, who also prepared the poster for the conference.
