Pantoro Ltd (ASX:PNR) has made solid progress on construction at the 50%-owned Norseman Gold Project in Western Australia, having kept within the project timeline and budget despite minor setbacks due to COVID-19 cases on-site.
Norseman Project sits within the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, at the southern end of the productive Norseman-Wiluna greenstone belt, and holds a mineral resource of 4.7 million ounces of gold with an ore reserve of 900,000 ounces.
The company has begun open pit mining at Scotia and Green Lantern mines of the Scotia Mining Centre, having already expedited construction of the processing plant by procuring components early during the approvals process.
Work continues on the power station upgrade, tailing storage facility expansion and bore field reinstatement, and underground preparation works are progressing well at the OK mine with development expected to kick off in July this year.

“Remarkable achievement”
“The on-time progression of this project is a remarkable achievement given the difficulties arising from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the severe shortages of personnel, equipment and supplies being experienced across the industry,” Pantoro managing director Paul Cmrlec said.
“Pantoro would like to acknowledge its personnel and contractors who have worked tirelessly since commencement of the feasibility study during 2020, and we look forward to bringing Western Australia’s newest operation online very soon.”
