Okapi Resources Ltd (ASX:OKR) has the diamond drill bit spinning in an 11-hole, 1,800 metres drilling program on its 100% owned Enmore Gold Project in the New England Fold Belt of northern New South Wales.
This is the company’s first diamond drilling program on the project and is designed to test extensions at the Sunnyside Prospect.
It is following up Okapi’s maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Sunnyside that was completed in September 2021 and returned strong results.
High priority target
Gold mineralisation at Sunnyside is present over 400 metres of strike and the prospect remains open at depth as well as along strike.
Sunnyside’s primary target remains open at depth and represents a high-priority target for the program.
The 2021 RC drill hole returned 174 metres at 1.83 g/t gold with the final 3-metre interval assaying 3 metres at 8.86 g/t, including 1-metre at 15.15 g/t from 172 metres.

Sherwood Prospect next
Diamond drilling, which is expected to take 2-3 months to complete, will also test the Sherwood Prospect on the Bora Fault, which is one of the most interesting of the regional targets at Enmore.
Sherwood has had small-scale historic production and historic drilling intersected grades including 56.6 g/t gold from 60.8-61.4 metres.
Okapi’s Sherwood drilling will test beneath old workings and follow up on the historically intersected high-grade gold.
About Enmore
The Enmore Project is about 30 kilometres south of the regional centre of Armidale in northern NSW with the operating Hillgrove Gold Mine of Red River Resources Ltd (ASX:RVR) around 20 kilometres north of Enmore.
Okapi’s Enmore Project shows similar geological characteristics to the Hillgrove deposit, which has produced more than 730,000 ounces of gold.
There is strong exploration potential at Enmore with 36 identified mineral occurrences, the majority of which are untested by deep drilling, modern geophysics or other targeting methods.
Mineralisation at Enmore generally comprises structurally controlled orogenic style gold (± antimony).
