Bored Ape NFT’s most popular with celebrities like Madonna and Paris Hilton

Data compiled by CMC Markets ranked celebrities by the value of their most recent sale

Bored Ape Yacht Club non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are the most popular among celebrities, with the likes of Madonna, Paris Hilton and Travis Barker all owning an expensive item from the digital art creators.

Data compiled by CMC Markets ranked celebrities by the value of their most recent sale, as well as showing that seven out of the 10 most valuable NFT portfolios among celebrities have a Bored Ape artwork as the most expensive in the set.

That includes comedian Dave Chappelle’s US$262,000 portfolio, Justin Bieber’s US$625,130 portfolio and American footballer Von Miller’s US$863,453 set.

Top of the list for most valuable sale was rapper Snoop Dogg, with a portfolio worth more than US$4.5mln, although his most expensive piece is a CryptoPunk item.

DJ Steve Aoki also owns an expensive Doodle item, while YouTuber Logan Paul’s most valuable artwork also comes from CryptoPunk.

CMC’s data shows that 60% of the celebrities in the top 10 come from the music industry, with Von Miller the only athlete on the list.

However, tennis star Serena Williams and basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal come in at 11 and 19 respectively on the extended list.
