Northern Minerals appoints executive chair and executive director to support development of Browns Range processing facility

"We are very fortunate to have Curtis and Cai join NTU in executive capacities. Both bring significant expertise, experience and energy," said company director Adam Handley.

Northern Minerals Ltd (ASX:NTU) has enhanced its rare earths and financing expertise with the appointment of Nicholas Curtis as executive chair and Bin Cai as executive director, effective immediately.

The company is positioning to become one of the few producers of heavy rare earth element dysprosium via the Browns Range Heavy Rare Earth Project in Western Australia.

Curtis was appointed non-executive director of NTU in November 2021, bringing an extensive mining and finance background to the team, developed over more than 30 years and with a particular knowledge of the rare earths industry.

Curtis will oversee the CEO and operations team as they advance the company’s strategy to build a full-scale beneficiation (ore refinement) processing facility at Browns Range.

“Expertise, experience and energy”

"We are very fortunate to have Curtis and Cai join NTU in executive capacities,” Northern Minerals director Adam Handley said.

“Both bring significant expertise, experience and energy to NTU. The remaining directors of the board are appreciative of their willingness to do so, including during the next important stage of NTU's development.”

Bin Cai has been involved with Northern Minerals for more than 10 years, having been appointed a non-executive director in July 2021 after acting as an alternate director since 2013.

Cai has been involved in the rare earth industry for more than 15 years and has assisted the company with critical financing and other activities over the years.

The appointments were effective from June 22, 2022, and have no fixed term.
