Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) is set to launch a blogging feature, called Twitter Notes, in the coming weeks, according to reports.
TechCrunch reports the new feature would support the publishing of long-form content on the social media platform, a break away from the currently limited number of 280 characters per tweet.
Users will be able to tweet articles and upload media which will be shared with followers upon publication.
Currently, users will create a thread, which is a series of linked tweets, in order to share more in-depth thoughts and stories.
Rumours regarding a longer form feature have been circulating for some time.
Earlier in the year, app researchers Jane Manchun Wong and Nima Owji shared screenshots of the feature online.
TechCrunch said that the feature is being used in beta versions of the Twitter app for testing.
While a launch is reportedly set for the coming weeks, it could be delayed for further experimentation.
