Base Resources to develop Bumamani after DFS highlights economic viability

Base Resources to develop Bumamani after DFS highlights economic viability

Base Resources' Tim Carstens speaks with Proactive’s Andrew Scott about the company’s decision to proceed with development of the Bumamani Project after a definitive feasibility study confirmed the project’s economic viability. Carstens explains how the decision now improves the ongoing problem it had with Kwale Operations’ mine life, which is now extended by 13 months to December 2024 once land access arrangements are finalised. Bumamani is a collection of higher-grade subsets around the company’s North Dune and the significance of the decision is not just the cash flow that comes with the longer mine life, but importantly it is the continuity of operations while Base brings in other opportunities it sees around its holdings in Kenya. The company is looking to start mining on the North Dune in February next year once infrastructure is in place. This will be mined concurrently with the South Dune.
