Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) has completed seven more step-out holes at pegmatite zone 6 of the Mavis Lake Lithium Project in Canada, unearthing a spodumene-bearing pegmatite intersection of 15 metres in width after hitting spodumene in 30 of 32 drill holes completed so far.
Highlight visual results from this latest round of drilling with 4,300 metres completed in the 5,000-metre program include:
- 15 metres of 20% fine to large spodumene laths from 148.15 metres;
- 9.4 metres of 20% fine to large spodumene laths from 116.7 metres;
- 3.55 metres of 20% fine to large spodumene laths from 47 metres and 1.5 metres of 20% fine to large spodumene laths from 51.35 metres;
- 3.3 metres of 10% fine to large spodumene laths from 45.75 metres;
- 7.95 metres of less than 5% fine to large spodumene laths from 113.2 metres; and
- 4.55 metres of less than 5% fine to large spodumene laths from 45.8 metres.
“Significant achievement”
“For 30 out of our first 32 holes to intersect spodumene-bearing mineralisation is a significant achievement,” Critical Resources managing director Alex Biggs said.
“We are focusing on the pegmatite 6 zone initially which will form the basis of a JORC-compliant resource estimate and next we plan to be testing the strike extent of mineralisation to the east and north towards the pegmatite 18 occurrence.
“We are very pleased with what we are seeing at Mavis Lake so far and are looking forward to more excellent drill and assay results.”
While the only results fielded by CRR so far have been visual estimations, the presence of lithium in dozens of drill holes is nonetheless a promising indication of Mavis Lake’s potential, a prospect Critical intends to double down on with a large expansion to the drilling campaign at the project expected over the coming months.
