CO2 GRO says Columbia rose trial results show its CO2 Delivery Solutions technology boosted total yield and percentage of high-quality plants

Total rose production increased by 8% and high-grade, high-value roses - being roses more than 55 centimetres (cm) in stem length with 6 cm wide flower buds - realized a 21% production increase

CO2 GRO Inc (TSX-V:GROW, OTCQB:BLONF) has revealed that a trial of its CO2 Delivery Solutions deployed at a Colombia rose greenhouse commercial facility has shown the technology boosted the total rose yield and the percentage of high-grade, high-value roses produced.

The trial, which commenced in December 2021, is being spearheaded by a leading global industrial CO2 gas supplier whose identity remains confidential at this time, along with the name and location of the rose grower facility.

CO2 GRO said, in addition to observing a total rose production increase of 8%, high-grade, high-value roses - being roses more than 55 centimetres (cm) in stem length with 6 cm wide flower buds - realized a 21% production increase.

Further, treated rows of rose plants in the greenhouse facility saw a 75% reduction in powdery mildew spread compared to the control group, the company noted.

CO2 GRO VP sales and strategic initiatives Aaron Archibald said the trial has proven that the company’s value proposition went beyond simply increasing plant yield with its CO2 Delivery Solutions technology also helping to increase the percentage of high-grade, high-value roses.

“Our technology could benefit protected growers of other types of flowers, fruits, vegetables and other plants such as medicinal, to realizer greater value for a higher percentage of high-quality plants grown, enabling higher gross margins," he added in a statement.

The trial is set to continue until the end of 2022.

“We expect results from the second phase of this rose trial to improve with refined protocols,” Archibald said. “We also look forward to replicating these initial results at our second Colombian rose trial and a first Ecuador rose trial that we expect to commence soon."

CO2 GRO is dedicated to increasing the growth of all indoor and outdoor value plants using its advanced CO2 Delivery Solutions.
