Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR) has fielded strong assays from 36 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes across 3,691 metres in exploration and infill drilling at Kada Gold Project in Guinea.
Exploration drilling along the 15-kilometre Kada Gold Corridor struck significant zones of broad gold mineralisation beyond the mineral resource estimate (MRE) area of 930,000 ounces of gold.
The best result was 43 metres at 1.2 g/t gold from 107 metres, including 9 metres at 3.4 g/t, and this hole ended in mineralisation.
RC campaign
Golden Rim recently wound up a 57-hole, 5,428-metre, RC drilling program at Kada.
Most of the program consisted of exploration drill holes designed to test auger gold anomalies predominantly along the Kada Gold Corridor and outside the MRE area, as well as three infill holes (444 metres) within the MRE area.
Other new intersections from the exploration program include:
- 45 metres at 0.7 g/t gold from 50 metres; and
- 10 metres at 2.5 g/t from 92 metres.
During the program, a single line of infill drill holes within the MRE pinpointed more thick oxide gold from surface, including:
- 15 metres at 1.8 g/t gold from zero metres, including 3 metres at 4.6 g/t and 13 metres at 1.5 g/t from 75 metres, including 3 metres at 5.0 g/t; and
- 17 metres at 1.7 g/t from zero metres.
The company now awaits the balance of the results, along with the outcome of an IP/ground magnetics geophysical survey and a 2,000-metre infill auger drilling program at Kada, which are due in the next few weeks, before planning follow-up RC drilling.
Golden Rim managing director Craig Mackay, said: “Golden Rim’s exploration RC drilling at Kada has achieved our objective of locating additional oxide gold mineralisation outside our maiden 930,000-ounce MRE area, identifying additional gold mineralisation in three areas that cover a cumulative strike length of more than 4 kilometres.
“It is envisaged these areas will provide considerable additional ounces to the gold inventory at Kada.
“The extent of these new areas is highly significant given the current MRE extends over 1 kilometre.
“We are particularly thrilled with the results from our drilling at Bereko Prospect, 7 kilometres north of the MRE, where we have discovered multiple zones of shallow oxide mineralisation that extend over 2.5 kilometres.
“Some of the intersections at Bereko are high-grade – greater than 5 g/t gold – and offer exciting targets for follow-up drilling.
“We also pleased with the broad zones of additional gold mineralisation, most of it shallow oxide, that we are locating just outside the margins of the MRE at the Massan prospect.”
What’s next?
A 2,000-metre infill auger drilling program on 100-metre by 50-metre spacing is underway at the Bereko prospect.
Golden Rim’s major IP and ground magnetics geophysical survey at Bereko and Massan is complete, data processing is underway and the results are expected shortly.
The company will use results from the RC and auger drilling programs as well as the geophysical survey to guide further exploration at Kada during 2022, including planning further drilling to follow up the highly encouraging initial drilling results received from Bereko and around the MRE at Massan.
