Hawsons Iron land acquisition feeds into grand production ambition

Hawsons Iron land acquisition feeds into grand production ambition

Hawsons Iron Ltd’s Bryan Granzien speaks with Proactive’s Andrew Scott about the significance of recent developments and the milestones the company has racked up in the last few weeks alone. Granzien highlights the deal it has just struck to purchase three contiguous parcels of land suitable for developing an export facility for the Hawsons Iron Project at Myponie Point on South Australia’s eastern Spencer Gulf. The deal underpins a recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Flinders Ports Pty Ltd to cooperate on the design, construction and operation of a Myponie Point Port for the export of 20 million tonnes per annum of magnetite concentrate. The Hawsons managing director highlights the importance of Flinders Ports and how this MoU is a win-win for everyone in the region who will get to piggy-back off the transport corridors that are being put in place. Granzien also speaks to the company’s ESG credentials, the low cost of the project, the expected delivery date of the BFS, as well as the planned second half 2024 production start date.
