Empower Clinics Inc has announced a corporate rebrand of its medical diagnostics laboratory business in the United States to Medisure Laboratory, marking an important milestone in the evolution of the company’s presence in the US healthcare market.
With Empower's experience and reputation, and deep connections to major cruiselines, the company said its COLA and CLIA accredited laboratory in Texas have expanded its service offerings to major ports in the south, as well as to key industries such as film and television that require testing and healthcare management solutions.
"Launching Medisure Labs in the US and utilizing our investments just makes sense. It opens new doors, allows us to bring products to market and grow more rapidly," Empower chairman and CEO Steven McAuley said in a statement.

"With Medisure Labs, we have a proven brand serving many thousands of patients, that is primed to succeed in the world's largest healthcare market," he added.
The company’s immediate plans for Medisure include researching, applying for and securing additional US Federal Drug and Administration (FDA) certifications to allow for the sale of its medical devices in the US, Empower said.
Medisure is also upgrading its quality managements systems to expedite the certification process, and has advanced offers to the cruise ship industry and to film and television productions, it added.
