Custodian REIT PLC (LSE:CREI)'s Richard Shepherd-Cross talks to Proactive about its shareholder returns, supported by earnings, and the resilience of real estate both during and immediately after the pandemic.
The REIT's earnings per year improved to 5.9p from 5.6p in the year before.
Net asset value growth appears impressive, measuring 28.7%, but according to Shepherd-Cross the metrics for shareholder returns should be the real focus for investors.
“For net asset value, it is nice to know there’s growth, but that doesn’t really deliver shareholder returns. But a 17% shareholder return really shows how resilient real estate has been through and immediately post-pandemic,” he said.
