Elon Musk will speak to Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) employees for the first time this week in a bid to ease their fears and explain his vision.
Musk will participate in a virtual meeting on Thursday with Twitter employees, where he will answer questions about the US$44bn takeover deal he has put on hold until he is given answers about bots on the social media platform, according to media reports.
Twitter chief executive Parag Agrawal reportedly announced the event in an email to employees, telling them to submit questions in advance.
Musk's takeover of Twitter has caused concern among many employees over the past couple of months.
Agrawal attempted to quell employee angst back in April during a company-wide meeting, during which staff demanded answers about how managers would handle a mass exodus prompted by Musk.
As boss of Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), the billionaire does seem to like the concept of working from home, having recently told workers to return to the office and to spend at least 40 hours at work every week.
Since agreeing the US$44bn takeover in April, Musk has demanded more information about spambots and fake accounts.
Musk has suggested he does not believe Twitter's findings that false or spam accounts make up fewer than 5% of its 229mln monetisable daily active users.
To resolve the standoff, Twitter's board reportedly plans to hand Musk access to the massive 'firehose' stream of data comprising more than 500mln tweets posted each day, to allow him to assess the number of fake users on the platform.
Musk has threatened to walk away if the data is not provided by the social media firm.
