Bunzl PLC (LSE:BNZL) said it is to buy a German cleaning and hygiene business as it completed the acquisition of a healthcare consumables business in New Zealand earlier this month.
Hydi.de, the online distributor of cleaning and hygiene products in Germany, services the business-to-business market and drives strong customer retention through specialist customer service and its reputation in the market, the international distribution and services group said.
It generated sales of £92mln in 2021, with an operating margin above the group average.
No financial details were disclosed.
Completion is subject to competition authority clearance.
Meanwhile, the acquisition of USL, a distributor of medical consumables to the healthcare sector, was completed in early June.
Frank van Zanten, Bunzl chief executive, said: "I am truly excited about the acquisition of the successful online distributor Hygi, as this marks a significant step in the development of our business in Germany, a market which has the potential to be more sizeable for Bunzl.
“These acquisitions highlight Bunzl's continued consolidation opportunity, which is supported by the strength of our balance sheet and an active pipeline."
