Radiopharm Theranostics signs new agreement to accelerate asset development

The agreement supplies RAD Lutetium-177 NCA, a key isotope required for multiple clinical trials in RAD's clinical pipeline, and thus the ability to accelerate several assets.

Radiopharm Theranostics Ltd (ASX:RAD) in conjunction with Isotopia Molecular Imaging (Isotopia) will collaborate to help advance the next generation of radiopharmaceutical therapies for cancer treatment.

The agreement will see RAD secure access to Lutetium-177 NCA, a medical isotope used in multiple clinical trials for radiopharmaceutical therapies in areas of high unmet medical need.

Isotope for therapies

Isotopia will supply high quality Lutetium-177 NCA to Radiopharm Theranostics for the purpose of conducting clinical research, development, manufacture and early-stage commercialisation of RAD's diagnostic and therapeutic products.

RAD is a clinical-stage radiotherapeutics company developing a world-class platform of innovative radiopharmaceutical products for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in areas of high unmet medical need and has a pipeline of four distinct and highly differentiated platform technologies spanning peptides, small molecules and monoclonal antibodies for use in cancer, in pre-clinical and clinical stages of development from some of the world’s leading universities and institutes.

The pipeline has been built based on the potential to be first-to-market or best-in-class. The clinical program includes five Phase 2 and two Phase 1 trials in a variety of solid-tumour cancers including breast, kidney and brain, with a total of 156 patients dosed to date.

Accelerating assets

The agreement supplies RAD Lutetium-177 NCA, a key isotope required for multiple clinical trials in RAD's clinical pipeline, and thus the ability to accelerate several assets.

“Radiopharmaceutical therapies represent the new frontier in oncology and significant growth is expected over the next five to 10 years, when you can combine the right molecule with the right isotope in areas of high unmet medical need. Access to high quality Lutetium-177, in its high purity version – noncarrier added – allows us to more quickly progress broad pipeline,” CEO and managing director of Radiopharm Riccardo Canevari said.

“We are privileged to be a part of this journey as we work with Isotopia to transform outcomes for patient suffering for oncological diseases.

Keren Moshkoviz, director of business development at Isotopia said of the agreement: “We are honoured to support Radiopharm together with their great leadership team and innovative approach to advance the field of radiopharmaceuticals.

“Isotopia has demonstrated over the past three years its unique platform to support pharmaceutical companies from pre-clinical and clinical development all the way to commercialisation with a committed team of experts, 24/7 support, high-quality product, and global weekly supply. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with Radiopharm to improve patients’ outcomes.”

Isotopia was established in 2006 by renowned Israeli scientists and experts in radiopharmaceuticals. The Lutetium-177 radioisotope is its flagship product having shown significant promise in treating a variety of late-stage cancers.
