Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) has intersected further high-grade intersections of base and previous metals in sulphide mineralisation during diamond drilling at the Gibson prospect of the Halls Peak Project in New South Wales.
Drill core from hole 16 at Gibsons returned zinc, lead, copper, gold, and silver mineralisation, including:
- 7.6 metres at 5.9% zinc, 1.16% lead, 0.19% copper, 7.23g/t silver from 62 metres;
- 3.7 metres at 2.37% zinc, 1.09% lead, 227.33/t silver, 0.31g/t gold from 98.8 metres; and
- 3.1 metres at 9.21% zinc, 4.66% lead, 1.97% copper, 59.67/t silver, 0.33g/t gold from 163.2 metres.
Hole 16 represents a previously undrilled area, north-east of previous drilling, with highly anomalous base metal mineralisation observed to a depth of 166.3 metres.
Critical believes this evidence of strong mineralisation at depth will continue to expand the potential of the Halls Peak system, which holds a pre-JORC (non-compliant) resource of 227 million tonnes at 9.2% zinc, 3.1% lead, 0.2% copper and 41 g/t silver.
Results reveal “previously unknown potential”
“Further expansion of drilling in the northerly direction at Gibsons with encouraging results is exciting. Delineating high grades at depth demonstrates the previously unknown potential of Halls Peak as a whole,” Critical Resources managing director Alex Biggs said.
“We are consistently uncovering new mineralisation in multiple directions but are seeing a trend north-westerly from Gibsons.
“Drilling at Sunnyside will be commencing in the coming weeks which will further allow us to test scale and continuity of mineralisation along a 1.5-kilometres strike distance. We look forward to keeping the market updated as we progress.”
Drill core samples from completed holes 17 and 18 are being assayed at the ALS laboratory in Brisbane, with results to be expected in progressive batch releases.
