Great Boulder Resources continues to hit high-grade gold in northern area of Mulga Bill prospect within Side Well

“I am very pleased to note that the high-grade gold intersected in diamond holes 22MBDD003 and 22MBDD004 are consistent with our geological interpretation, which also means we are becoming increasingly confident in our understanding of the

Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has hit narrow, high-grade intersections of gold up to 0.56 metres at 30.80 g/t in drilling at the northern section of the Mulga Bill prospect, within the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia.

The company has received six of eight diamond hole assays recently drilled at Mulga Bill, with intercepts of note including:

  • 2.0 metres at 9.41 g/t gold from 90 metres, including 0.56 metres at 30.80 g/t (22MBDD004);
  • 0.57 metres at 19.20 g/t from 11.75 metres (22MBDD004); and
  • 0.43 metres at 11.53 g/t from 106.21 metres, including 0.15 metres at 30.5 g/t (22MBDD003).

A deep hole (21MBRCD096) drilled into a prospective gravity-electromagnetic anomaly failed to intersect significant gold mineralisation but did reveal elevated pathfinder geochemistry that indicated there may be gold mineralisation nearby – this indication has already been followed up with aircore drilling but assays are still pending.

Multiple promising targets across Side Well

“I am very pleased to note that the high-grade gold intersected in diamond holes 22MBDD003 and 22MBDD004 are consistent with our geological interpretation, which also means we are becoming increasingly confident in our understanding of the high-grade northern area of Mulga Bill,” GBR managing director Andrew Paterson said.

“Further south at the large geophysical target we are seeing evidence of cross-cutting structures which may explain the lack of continuity there, as seen in 21MBRCD096.

“We are now looking slightly further east of the IP (induced polarisation) target at that northing, where the team drilled six aircore holes in the area last week to test the hypothesis that gold mineralisation is offset to the east.

“We learn something from every hole we drill. I am very keen to see the next round of assays come back from the lab and also very excited to start RC (reverse circulation) drilling targets at the southern end of the Mulga Bill-Loaded Dog corridor.

“Along with the remaining two diamond holes, we now have 31 RC holes and 57 aircore holes at the assay lab so we’re expecting a steady flow of results over the next two months.

“The field team is now drilling an aircore program at Whiteheads, and we will be back at Side Well for the next RC program at the end of the month.”

RC drilling at Side Well will resume soon, with an immediate focus on the southern end of Mulga Bill, where aircore drilling has intersected 3 metres at 8.56 g/t gold to end of hold. An RC drill rig will remain on-site for the remainder of the year.

GBR expects to enjoy a strong near-term news flow, with results from two diamond holes, 31 RC holes and 57 aircore holes still pending at the assay laboratory.
