Berkeley Group Holdings PLC (LSE:BKG) has appointed City heavyweight and former Schroders PLC (LSE:SDR) head Michael Dobson as its new chair.
Dobson will take over once Glyn Barker, the current chairman, steps down as planned at the annual general meeting on September 6.
He recently stepped down after six years as Schroders PLC (LSE:SDR)'s chair and over the last 40 years has held senior positions at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Grenfell, as well as Schroders.
He will join the board of FTSE 100 housebuilder Berkeley as an independent non-executive director before he takes over as chair.
"Glyn was appointed chair in July 2020 for a period of two years to oversee the transition of the board on the passing of the company's founder and previous chair, Tony Pidgley," Berkeley explained.
Berkeley Group Holdings shares were down 0.98% at 4,230p in London.
