Meteoric Resources NL (ASX:MEI)’s Andrew Tunks reflects on his time as managing director of the company and the success of its projects over the last few years. As Tunks moves from his position as MD to a non-executive role, he looks back on the work done at the Jurena Gold Project in Brazil, which has just been sold for $30 million. That sale, forced by COVID and the company’s inability to be on site, gives MEI the strength to back itself in financially (with no capital raise in sight in the near term) at its Palm Springs Gold Project in WA – which is now the company’s short-term focus. At Palm Springs, Meteoric will start an IP survey in the next week or two, which is expected to create drilling targets. The company believes there are opportunities to grow the current resource while also generating new targets that have never been tested. While Tunks is standing down as MD, he will be heavily involved in the acquisition of new projects, which he believes will be beneficial to shareholders in future.
