Oragin Foods Inc said it has been added to the Corporate Knights’ inaugural Future 50 Fastest-Growing Sustainable Companies in Canada list.
The multi-pronged food company said the ranking looks to highlight emerging Canadian companies whose innovation leaves them poised to be market leaders in the transition to a global clean economy.
“Our company’s commitment to sustainable products and practices has been a point of pride since we started as Organic Garage,” Oragin Foods CEO Matt Lurie said in a statement.

“We have always focused on operating in the most environmentally friendly way possible and are proud to have been recognized by the Corporate Knights for that conscious choice,” Lurie added.
Oragin noted that the Future 50 represents the 25 fastest-growing, publicly-traded companies (as measured by year-over-year revenue growth percentage) and the 25 fastest-growing privately-owned companies (based on percentage growth in capital raised from its two most recent funding rounds) that earn more than 50% of revenue from clean energy sources.
Oragin Foods, which began its operations as Organic Garage, acquired the sustainable, plant-based cheese and dairy products manufacturer Future of Cheese, which would, in turn, become the cornerstone brand of Oragin’s Consumer Packaged Goods Division (CPG), according to the company.
Oragin is a Canadian multi-pronged food company, where new and innovative food and beverage brands are developed, acquired, grown and commercialized through its CPG Division. The company also houses a Retail Division, which owns and operates one of Canada's leading natural and organic food retailers, Organic Garage.
