Galileo Mining Ltd (ASX:GAL) has kicked off 4,000 metres of drilling at the Callisto palladium-rich multi-element discovery within the Norseman Project in Western Australia, targeting eastern extensions of the main sulphide zone of the prospect.
The company has selected priority targets for this follow-up round of reverse circulation (RC) drilling, investigating areas host to previously reported palladium-platinum-gold-nickel-copper-rhodium intersections from shallow depths:
- 33 metres at 2.05 g/t 4E (1.64 g/t palladium, 0.28 g/t platinum, 0.09 g/t gold, 0.05 g/t rhodium), 0.32% copper and 0.30% nickel from 144 metres;
- 22 metres at 1.60 g/t 3E (1.32 g/t palladium, 0.21 g/t platinum, 0.07 g/t gold), 0.25% copper and 0.26% nickel from 135 metres;
- 28 metres at 1.58 g/t 3E (1.29 g/t palladium, 0.22 g/t platinum, 0.07 g/t gold), 0.27% copper and 0.26% nickel from 137 metres; and,
- 19 metres at 1.69 g/t 3E (1.38 g/t palladium, 0.23 g/t platinum, 0.09 g/t gold), 0.24% copper and 0.28% nickel from 124 metres.

“It is great to be back drilling at Callisto so soon after the release of results from the first drill program in May,” Galileo Mining managing director Brad Underwood said.
“The current drilling aims to expand on the early results with drilling designed at a 50-metre spacing across strike to be followed by drill lines along strike to the north.
“The mineralisation intersected to date contains palladium, platinum, gold, copper, nickel and rhodium, and the grades appear to be increasing towards the eastern target zone.
“The extensive prospective strike, combined with the thick and consistent mineralisation drilled to date, indicates the potential for a large mineralised system.
“Approximately 20 holes will be undertaken in this round of drilling, and we look forward to updating the market with results from this exciting new discovery.”

Galileo says it will release results as they become available, with laboratory assays expected from late July.
