Aruma Resources readies the drills for the next phase of drilling at the Salmon Gums Gold Project

The program follows high-grade results from the company’s recently completed maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program, which delivered grades of up to 5 metres @ 50g/t gold.

Aruma Resources Ltd (ASX:AAJ) has kicked off a follow-up drilling program at the Salmon Gums Gold Project near the mining town of Norseman in the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.

The company plans to drill up to three diamond core holes while it’s on site, to depths of around 300 metres, in an attempt to gain a deeper geological understanding of the priority Thistle and Iris magnetic trends.

The program will generate core samples to allow for definition of rock types, mineralisation types, metallurgy and stratigraphy, along with gold grades and controls, and is expected to wrap up in this month.

Program follows maiden drilling success

The diamond drill program comes hot on the heels of Aruma’s maiden wide-spaced reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Salmon Gums, which returned exceptional high-grade gold intersections such as 5 metres @ 50.2g/t gold from 42 metres, including 3 metres @ 83g/t gold from 42 metres and 1 metre @ 224g/t gold from 44 metres.

Aruma managing director Peter Schwann said: “With the high-grade gold intersections from our maiden program clearly demonstrating the project’s potential to host multiple high-grade gold quartz vein and lode style orebodies, these diamond drill holes will help Aruma to better characterise and understand the Salmon Gums mineralisation and guide the next phases of field work and drilling.”

About the Salmon Gums Gold Project

Salmon Gums covers 222 square kilometres, and is 200 kilometres south of Kalgoorlie, and 60 kilometres south of the mining town of Norseman.

The project is 30 kilometres south and directly along strike in the same stratigraphy as Pantoro Limited’s rapidly expanding high-grade Scotia Gold Project.

Aruma completed a total of 6,243 metres of RC drilling in its maiden drilling program at Salmon Gums. This consisted of an initial 2,298 metres in thirty-three holes and a follow-up phase of drilling for 3,945 metres in thirty-nine holes, which reported high-grade results and further reinforced Aruma’s exploration model, which suggests the potential for the project to host a large gold system.
