Recruiter.com highlights rise of hybrid and in-person roles amid job-hopper economy in its Recruiter Index for May 2022

For the second month in a row hybrid roles and in-person roles have outpaced remote roles, signifying an increase in companies requiring a return to the office

Recruiter.com Group Inc has provided insights into recruiter sentiments on hiring demand and the labor market with the release of its Recruiter Index for May 2022.

According to the report, for the second month in a row hybrid roles (40%) and in-person roles (38%) have outpaced remote roles (21%), signifying an increase in companies requiring a return to the office.

Candidate sentiment, the measure of how open candidates are to new jobs, took a slight dip in May, with recruiter sentiment holding steady at a 3.5 out of 5.

The report highlighted that compensation was candidates’ top priority when looking for a new opportunity, increasing 67% since March, followed by remote work and work-life balance.

The top 10 most in-demand roles according to recruiters are IT/software engineering, recruiting/staffing, medical/healthcare, architecture/engineering, business services, accounting/auditing, hospitality, apparel/fashion, sales, and automotive.

Recruiter.com CEO Evan Sohn noted that the report showed indications of a continued tight labor market.

"With the Great Resignation transitioning into the job-hopper economy, employers need to step up their hiring game and increase their talent pipeline,” Sohn said.

He also highlighted that forward-looking companies have started to “over-hire” to be proactive about the inevitable churn that comes hand-in-hand with the job-hopper economy.

“As this progresses, we expect that every company of 20 or more will allocate a sum of money towards talent acquisition,” he said.
