Sovereign Metals Ltd (ASX:SVM, AIM:SVML)'s Julian Stephens updates Proactive on a pre-feasibility study (PFS) drilling program that's just kicked off at the Kasiya Rutile Project in Malawi. The 12,000-metre program is designed to upgrade Kasiya's higher-grade mineral resource areas to underpin their conversion to reserves as part of the planned PFS. An April mineral resource for the project clocked in at 1.8 billion tonnes at 1.01% rutile — positioning Kasiya as the largest rutile deposit in the world, with more than double the contained rutile of its nearest peer, Sierra Rutile. As drilling gets underway, Sovereign is reaching the finish line on an updated scoping study, which builds on an initial report filed in December 2021.
