Open Orphan PLC (AIM:ORPH, OTC:OPORF) said its hVIVO subsidiary has inked a £14.7mln influenza deal with an existing client.
The unnamed global top-five pharma company has engaged the contract research group to carry out a characterisation study before testing its vaccine on healthy volunteers.
Work will get underway in the third quarter, while revenues from this latest piece of work will be recognised this year and next.
The same client signed a virus manufacturing contract announced on May 4.
"This is another important milestone for hVIVO in that, in addition to the previously announced manufacture of a bespoke challenge agent, we have now been contracted to conduct the characterisation and the challenge studies with this big pharma customer,” said Open Orphan chief executive 'Mo' Khan.
“Moreover, we will also be providing full recruitment and laboratory services.
“This highlights hVIVO's unique full-service offering in running complex human challenge studies.”
