Kin Mining NL (ASX:KIN) has linked the Eastern Corridor of the flagship Cardinia Gold Project in Western Australia into one large mineralised system, interpreting multiple mineralised deposits and lodes to be part of one coherent complex in a 1-kilometre by 5-kilometre area on the eastern side of the project.
The Cardinia Hill, Helens, Fiona, Rangoon, East Lynne, and now Helens East prospects have been interpreted to be part of this system after the latest round of reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Helens East Prospect, which returned results including:
- 7 metres at 24.7g/t gold from 107 metres;
- 3 metres at 5.38g/t gold from 108 metres;
- 2 metres at 6.50g/t gold from 33 metres;
- 1 metre at 7.98g/t gold from 9 metres; and
- 1 metre at 5.20g/t gold from 32 metres.
These intersections reflect similar high-grade, steeply dipping mineralisation as was intersected along the Helens East trend south of the Fiona deposit and close to the 106,000-ounce Cardinia Hill Gold deposit, which returned results of 21 metres at 3.58g/t gold from 45 metres, including 7 metres at 6.16 g/t gold from 58 metres, among others.

“Our Eastern Corridor exploration program continues to deliver impressive new results and identify new mineralised positions, both along strike from known deposits and in new, previously undrilled positions,” Kin Mining managing director Andrew Munckton said.
“These exciting results from Helens East once again confirm the interpretation of high-grade, sulphide-rich gold mineralisation both in steeply dipping and shallow east-dipping lodes.
“The Helens East mineralisation intersected in this drilling program appears to represent the southern extension of nearer surface mineralisation discovered further north at Fiona.
“This drilling and the recently announced high-grade results from Rangoon and Cardinia Hill provide further evidence that the Eastern Corridor is highly mineralised and confirms our geological interpretation that the numerous deposits and mineralised lodes discovered at Cardinia Hill, Helens, Fiona, Rangoon, East Lynne and now Helens East should be seen as a coherent mineralised system rather than a series of separate deposits.
“We continue to see significant potential to discover further high-grade lodes, delineate new resources and grow our overall inventory across this corridor, which will continue to be a big focus for us moving forward.”
Kin says that drilling in this eastern area of the project continues to confirm that it contains multiple mineralised positions extending over a total strike distance of 5 kilometres.
A further 30 RC holes at Rangoon and nine at East Lynne have been completed to test depth and strike extensions to previously intersected high-grade mineralisation. Assays are still pending.
