So far 21,309 metres (m) has been completed in 94 holes, expanding the budgeted 15,000m announced early this year, said the firm

New Pacific Metals (TSX:NUAG, NYSE:NEWP) Corp has reported results from a further 20 holes from this year's work at the Silver Sand project in Bolivia as part of its15,000 metre (m) infill and step-out drilling for a resource update.

So far 21,309m has been completed in 94 holes, expanding the budgeted 15,000m announced early this year, the firm said. Most have been sunk in the core area of Silver Sand, totaling 19,424m in 87 holes.

One hole hit an interval of 60.48m grading 236 grams per tonne (g/t) silver (Ag) from 82.10m to 142.58m, including an intercept of 6.45m grading 1,423 g/t silver from 103.25m to 109.7m.

Another hole hit an interval of 20.9m grading 84 g/t silver from 39m to 59.9m and an interval of 32.31m grading 171 g/t from 82.24 m to 114.55 m, including 5.2m grading 554 g/t silver from 93.5m to 98.7m. Another hole hit an interval of 59.61 m grading 100 g/t silver from 18.42m to 78.03m.

The results of those infill and step-out drilling will be included in the resource update for Silver Sand expected in the second half of the year and will be included in the preliminary economic assessment (PEA) due by the end of 2022.

Currently, two rigs are deployed at Silver Sand - the first is drilling some of the satellite prospects surrounding the Silver Sand project, while the second is drilling ten geotechnical holes required for open pit slope angles for the PEA and further in-fill drill holes targeting upgrading inferred resource blocks for further studies subsequent to the PEA

Vancouver-based New Pacific is an exploration and development company with precious metal projects, including the flagship Silver Sand project, the Silverstrike project and the Carangas project, all of which are located in Bolivia.
