Shree Minerals Limited (ASX:SHH) has hit gold, silver and base metal lenses during reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Rock Lodge prospect in NSW.
The explorer’s deepest RC hole intersected four separate mineralised zones from 75 to 99 metres downhole, including 2 metres at 2.13 g/t gold and another 2 metres at 2.12 g/t.
Ultimately, results from this hole indicate that Shree should expect to find multiple mineralised zones in future drill programs.
West of the deep drill hole, Shree’s exploration intersected 8 metres at 1.08 g/t gold, including 3 metres at 2.12 g/t.
Combined with previous drilling, the new results map out a mineralised envelope that’s as much as 60 metres wide.
Turning the soil at Rock Lodge
Shree kicked off its RC drill program in April, testing priority drill targets including IP anomalies that coincided with anomalous soil and rock chip geochemistry.
Positively, Shree’s drilling intersected a wide zone of stacked, vertical lenses of polymetallic mineralisation at Rock Lodge.
Apart from gold and silver, the mineralisation includes varying amounts of bismuth, arsenic, copper, antimony, lead, cadmium and zinc.
Shree minerals chief geologist Michael Busbridge said a very wide mineralised footprint was shaping up at Rock Lodge,
“Two hundred metres to the north, IP anomalies and similar anomalous rock chip geochemical signatures suggest the mineralisation envelope may be continuous at least to this area.
“As the envelope is open in all directions, further drilling focusing on the continuity, depth and lateral extent of the stacked veins is now a very high priority and represents an exciting drill target for Shree.”
Next steps
Down the track, Shree plans to drill two or three deeper diamond drill holes and complete downhole electromagnetic surveys to search for off-hole conductors, possibly representing wider massive sulphide mineralisation than has already been found.
In addition, diamond drilling will help Shree collect orientated structural data, including dips and strikes of mineralised veins.
This is necessary for future drill hole planning and so the explorer can calculate the true widths of mineralisation.
