Caspin Resources identifies thick nickel-copper sulphide zones at XC-46 conductor within Yarawindah Brook Project

“Whilst the company’s primary focus remains on the Yarabrook Hill area, drilling at XC-46 has shown that the Brassica Prospect and indeed the entire Brassica trend is a fertile environment for magmatic nickel-copper and PGE mineralisation.

Caspin Resources Ltd (ASX:CPN) has demonstrated the potential of the Brassica Shear Zone (BSZ) at Yarawindah Brook Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (PGE) Project, unearthing thick sulphide zones with visible nickel-copper mineralisation during diamond drilling.

This drilling program targeted the XC-46 airborne electromagnetic (AEM) conductor, which sits along the BSZ – a trend of prospective geology 17 kilometres long, interpreted to be a connecting structure between the Julimar and Yarawindah areas.

The main core of XC-46 has yet to be properly drill tested and mineralisation remains open in all directions at the conductor.

“Brassica trend a fertile environment”

“Airborne electromagnetics has once again proven to be an excellent first-pass tool for identifying sulphide-rich mineralisation systems at Yarawindah Brook,” Caspin Resources CEO Greg Miles said.

“This bodes well for the future exploration and drill testing of other conductors already identified in the project.

“But it is worth noting that the PGE-rich style of mineralisation observed at Yarawindah Brook sometimes occur with only minor amounts of disseminated sulphide mineralisation which may not be sufficient to generate an electromagnetic response.

“Therefore, the company is following a strategy of systematically collecting multiple datasets and constructing detailed geological models it believes will ultimately lead to a discovery.

“Whilst the company’s primary focus remains on the Yarabrook Hill area, drilling at XC-46 has shown that the Brassica Prospect and indeed the entire Brassica trend is a fertile environment for magmatic nickel-copper and PGE mineralisation.

“Most of this trend is yet to be explored in any modern form and represents an excellent opportunity for discovery.

“There appears to be some obvious targets for the next phase of exploration at XC-46 but we’re just as excited by the early-stage exploration still to come along the entire Brassica trend.”

Caspin will follow-up XC-46 with further drilling targeting the centre and down-plunge extensions of the conductive plate, but has paused drilling at Yarawindah while the company awaits assays from conductor XC-22.

The company intends to explore the entire Brassica trend for mineralisation, with access to about 8 kilometres of prospective strike.

It will conduct further mapping and soil sampling to support targets generated through geophysical surveys, and continue to advance land access agreements along the trend to enable on-ground exploration activities.
