Centrica says sale of Norwegian assets should complete tomorrow

Spirit Energy will now focus on maximising the delivery of its gas production for the UK, repurposing assets for the energy transition and decommissioning activities.

Centrica PLC (LSE:CNA), the British Gas owner, said the sale of Spirit Energy’s Norwegian assets to Sval Energi AS should go through tomorrow.

The company said conditions for the sale of Spirit Energy's interests in the Statfjord field to Equinor ASA subsidiaries have also been satisfied.

Centrica is getting US$1.1bn for the assets, which may rise to US$1.2bn depending on commodity prices.
