XLMedia has appointed David King as its new chief executive officer with effect from 1 July 2022.
King has held several senior executive roles in companies across the media sector and brings extensive leadership and financial expertise, the performance marketing company said in a statement.
He succeeds Stuart Simms, who announced in April that he would step down as CEO. Simms will leave the company after an orderly handover period.
King's most recent position was as CEO of JPIMedia Group, where he led the business through a digital acceleration programme and oversaw an ongoing rationalisation programme, growth of 'the i' newspaper and the sale of the group.
Other previous roles include Time Out's first CEO and CFO of BBC Worldwide. King is a qualified chartered accountant.
