Auto Trader Group PLC (LSE:AUTO) delivered a record-breaking performance for the year ended March 31, boosting pre-tax profits by 91% and revenue by 65%.
The Manchester-based company reported pre-tax profits of £301mln for the full year.
Revenue rose 65% to £432.7mln, while average revenue per retailer (ARPR) per month climbed 67% to £2,210.
According to the company, the £886 increase was heavily influenced by COVID-19-related dealer discounts in the previous year.
"This year marks the best financial and operational performance in our history," said Nathan Coe, chief executive.
"Despite the current high levels of economic uncertainty and industry change, we enter the year with good reason for both confidence and optimism."
Operating profit increased by 88% to £303.6mln, and profit margin increased by 70% from 61% in 2021.
The board proposed a final dividend of 5.5p per share, up from 5p in 2021, for a total dividend of 8.2p per share.
In spite of the pressure on costs, the company expects operating profit margins to remain at 70% and growth to be better than 2021, but lower than the exceptional performance achieved in 2022.
Shares were up 1.87% to 576.58p on Thursday.
