Curtis Banks appoints industry veteran as new chair

David Barral is currently the non-executive chair of Rowanmoor Group and a non-exec at The Pensions Superfund,

Curtis Banks has appointed David Barral as independent chairman following the retirement of Chris Macdonald, who held the position since 2015.

Barral is currently the non-executive chair of Rowanmoor Group and a non-exec at The Pensions Superfund, having previously been a chief executive of Avia UK and Ireland Life in a career spanning 40 years.

SIPP specialist Curtis Banks said Jules Hydleman is also stepping down as a non-exec and will be replaced by Christopher Mills, who has been chief executive and principal shareholder of Harwood Capital Management since 2011 and was one of the founders of JO Hambro Capital Management in 1993.

Will Self, Curtis Banks's chief executive, added: “The board is delighted that David and Christopher are joining the Board as Curtis Banks' growth strategy develops.”

He also thanked MacDonald and Hydleman for their long and distinguished service to the company.
