Northstar Gold Corp announced that it has begun a borehole geophysics program on its 100%-owned Miller Gold property, which is situated 18 kilometres southeast of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
The gold exploration company said seven boreholes totaling 2,100 metres (m) will be surveyed in the vicinity of the Allied Syenite to facilitate step-out drill hole targeting of new discoveries made in drill holes such as MG20-49, which intersected 1.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 118.5m.
Northstar noted the information collected by the survey, when processed with previously-collected data from prior surface 3D IP-RES surveys at Miller, will provide for full 3D resistivity and chargeability models of the subsurface with greatly enhanced resolution constrained by actual borehole observations and geological modeling.

The company added that the Miller borehole survey is expected to be completed by the end of May 2022, with results to be integrated with Northstar’s updated 3D geological model to provide targeting basis for a Phase III exploration drill program.
Northstar Gold is focused on advancing exploration properties in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone belt and Kirkland Lake district in Ontario. The company's flagship asset is its wholly-owned Miller gold project, which is a resource stage property 18 kilometres southeast of Kirkland Lake Gold's Macassa mine complex.
