The Norwegian arthouse film The Worst Person in the World was the surprise package of the awards season, winning multiple nominations, including two Oscar shouts.
Though it failed to land a coveted statuette, its star, Renate Reinsve, was named best actress at the prestigious Cannes Festival, which will no doubt result in a flood of Hollywood offers.
Taking a backstage role in the film, which so far has made US$11.8mln at the box office, was a company called Drylab Media Tech PLC, which provided on-set production technology for the picture.
A merger with Media Tech SPAC that helped bring in £4.1mln of new funding will help fund Drylab’s international expansion aspirations and should pave the way to a London stock market listing.
