Flynn Gold Ltd (ASX:FG1) has set drills turning at the Golden Ridge Project in Tasmania, investigating several induced polarisation (IP) conductors near the Trafalgar prospect for gold mineralisation.
FG1 moved to drill Trafalgar following the completion of a similar program at the Brilliant prospect, which returned (partial) results of up to 13.4 metres at 0.95 g/t gold from 36.6 metres, including 4.2 metres at 1.95 g/t from 41.8 metres.
There were also much broader but lower-grade intercepts, including 42.4 metres at 0.43 g/t gold from 36.6 metres.
The Trafalgar program will involve 3-4 holes for up to 1,400 metres of drilling – partially funded by the Tasmanian Government under the Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) scheme – designed to test extensions of historically drilled mineralisation, which included very high-grade results of:
- 5.0 metres at 12.56 g/t gold from 202.0 metres, including 0.4 metres at 150.0 g/t from 202.7 metres.
“Strong pipeline of drill targets”
“We are pleased to be starting the EDGI co-funded drilling program at Trafalgar where high-grade gold mineralisation is seen to be hosted in both the granodiorite and the enclosing hornfelsed sediments,” Flynn Gold executive director Sam Garrett said.
“The use of dipole-dipole IP following up on our earlier gradient array survey was successful in identifying multiple targets for follow-up drilling.
“Having received our drilling approvals for the Link zone, Blinding and Kensington prospects mean that we have a strong pipeline of drill targets to keep us busy in the near future.”
