ACME Lithium Inc. (CSE:ACME, OTCQB:ACLHF) said it has mobilized a drilling crew to its Clayton Valley lithium brine project in Nevada, in preparation for a Phase 1 program to better define the property’s potential.
The first phase will consist of advancement of an HQ core hole up to 500 metres to assess lithology, permeability features, clay, sandstone and gravel content, and lithium brine potential prospectivity, according to Carson City-based ACME.
The firm plans to install a temporary monitoring well in the core hole once drilling is completed, as part of what it has dubbed its Phase 1A program.

In addition, brine samples will be collected from the well at depth intervals and then independently analyzed for lithium, boron and other minerals typical of lithium enriched brine systems. The temporary well will be plugged and abandoned upon completion of testing or within 60 days from completion of drilling.
Depending on the results of the initial program, ACME said that it could conduct additional characterization work to include drilling a separate, larger diameter well to complete brine-aquifer testing and sampling as part of a Phase 1B program.
A Dissolved Mineral Resource Exploration Well Permit Application (DMRE) was approved by the Nevada Division of Minerals (NDOM) for completion of Phase 1A. Depending on the results of Phase 1A, ACME said it will submit a separate DMRE permit application that allows for temporary diversion of brine waters for characterization and testing purposes to NDOM for completion of Phase 1B.
Clayton Valley is contiguous to the northwest of Albermarle's Silverpeak lithium deposit, which has been in production since 1966.
