NA Proactive news snapshot: Canada Silver Cobalt Works, Kontrol Technologies, Water Tower Research, Guardforce AI, ReVolve Renewable Power ...

A glance at some of the day's highlights from the Proactive Investors US and Canada newswires

Canada Silver Cobalt Works Inc has announced that it is planning an airborne VTEM Plus geophysical survey at its Lowney-Lac Edouard property south of the historical Lac Edouard nickel-copper-cobalt (Ni-Cu-Co) mine in Quebec to identify discrete conductive anomalies near the surface to guide its upcoming fieldwork program. The company said the VTEM survey would be completed via helicopter in late June by airborne geophysical survey mapping, interpretation, and analysis company Geotech. The property is of interest to the company’s technical team due to a significant regional gravity anomaly identified by a previous airborne SGL survey, its positive geological context, sediment lake samples that returned elevated nickel and copper, and its proximity to the past-producing Lac Edouard mine.

Kontrol Technologies Corp announced that it has been selected to provide multi-year monitoring of emissions for the expansion of rail infrastructure in the Province of Ontario. The company said it will be installing a customized continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) solution as well as providing real-time monitoring over three years for the new rail infrastructure project, which is part of the current expansion of high-speed commuter rail service in the Canadian province.

Water Tower Research LLC said it hosted a fireside chat with Talos CEO Tim Duncan and the wide-ranging discussion touched on the company’s philosophy of building a sustainable offshore exploration and production (E&P) business and an emerging carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) business. Endeavour Mining PLC said all resolutions at its annual general meeting, held today, May 24, 2022, were duly passed by shareholders, including the election of Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan (Venkat) as its new chair - replacing Michael Beckett - and Ian Cockerill as a board director. "Michael Beckett has played an invaluable role in Endeavour's transformation into the leading global gold producer we are today. On behalf of us all at Endeavour, I would like to thank him for his outstanding contribution and leadership,” CEO and president Sebastien de Montessus said in a statement. “I would also like to welcome Venkat as our new chair, and I look forward to working closely with both him and Ian Cockerill, our new senior independent non-executive director, as they join our board." While Resolution 13, to approve the Directors' Remuneration Policy, received support exceeding 90%, Endeavour said its board noted that Resolution 14, to approve the annual report on directors' remuneration contained in the Directors' Remuneration Report, received approximately 70% support. It said it will therefore continue to engage with shareholders in the coming months and will publish an update on that engagement within six months of the AGM.

Guardforce AI Co. Limited said it has entered into two definitive agreements to acquire a total of eight companies in China as it accelerates the commercial rollout of its Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) business initiatives and expands its integrated security capabilities. “China represents a significant growth opportunity, as it is among the largest and fastest-growing economies in the world," the company’s CEO Lei Wang said in a statement. "Importantly, these acquisitions bring established management and sales teams with proven track records in their local markets." Guardforce AI said the first agreement is to acquire Beijing Wanjia Security System Limited, an integrated security provider with 25 years of experience from Shenzhen Yeantec Co, Limited for approximately US$8.4 million. The acquisition is expected to close in June 2022, subject to customary closing conditions, it added. The second agreement is to acquire an additional seven companies from Shenzhen Kewei Robot Technology Co., Limited, valued at approximately US$21.6 million, with the acquisition expected to close in the third quarter of 2022, the company said.

ReVolve Renewable Power Corp, the North American developer of utility-scale renewable energy generation projects, said it has been notified by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that its right of way/variance land application for the Bouse solar and storage project has been approved for further processing. The Bouse project is a 1GWac solar and battery storage project, located on 6,155 acres of land wholly managed by the BLM in La Paz County 27 miles east of Quartzsite, Arizona. "Completion of the variance approval process is a major milestone for the development of the Bouse project and is the result of some excellent work by the ReVolve development team working closely with the BLM over the last 12 months. We now look forward to continuing this work with the BLM and our external consultants as the project moves into the NEPA [National Environmental Policy Act] process,” Steve Dalton, CEO of ReVolve said in a statement.

GR Silver Mining Ltd has announced high-grade silver results from underground infill drilling at the Plomosas Project in Sinaloa State, Mexico. The results continue to support the potential to increase silver grades at the mine, the company said. Drilling targeted high-grade silver (Ag) mineralization in the upper levels of the underground workings, in areas where unsampled intervals from historical drill holes within the 2021 resource block model were previously assigned zero values. “The 2022 infill drill program at the Plomosas Mine has been carefully designed to address upside potential in the resource block model. It has been our thesis that historical sampling lacked detail in some unmined areas resulting in the adoption of zero grade in unsampled drill hole intervals in the current resource model,” the company's chairman and CEO, Eric Zaunscherb said in a statement.

Orgenesis Inc, the global biotech company working to unlock the full potential of cell and gene therapies, has said it is entering the second phase of its POCare Platform rollout, and expects to benefit from recurring revenue streams from long-term contracts for the next two to three years. This follows the building of a robust network of POCare centers across Europe, Asia and the Middle East and the implementation of its POCare supply strategy in the US, the company said. "We are now entering the second phase of our rollout. Specifically, we are conducting work related to validation, process development, and supply for clinical trials of advanced therapies utilizing our POCare platform and OMPULs,” said Vered Caplan, CEO of Orgenesis, in a statement announcing first-quarter 2022 results.

i-80 Gold Corp said assay results from the first six holes drilled this year in the South Pacific Zone (SPZ) at the company’s Granite Creek property in Humboldt County, Nevada, continue to demonstrate "significant" potential for expansion. The SPZ is a new zone of high-grade gold mineralization located immediately north of the underground mine workings at Granite Creek. It is the priority target of the ongoing surface drill program at Granite Creek and will be included in a resource update following the 2022 program, the mining company said. i-80 Gold highlighted hole iGS22-05, where it intersected an “impressive” 16.4 grammes per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) over 15.3 metres (m) approximately, 110m down-dip of previous drilling and 50m below hole iGS22-04. “Drilling continues to expand high-grade mineralization in the South Pacific Zone that remains wide open for expansion both along strike and at depth”, Tyler Hill, senior geologist at i-80 said in a statement.

Irwin Naturals Inc said it has licensed its brand to BeneLeaves Ltd, an Ohio manufacturer of cannabis products, allowing BeneLeaves to produce and distribute formulas such as Irwin Naturals' Power to Sleep with THC. “It is clear that the value of our highly trusted brand, known by over 100 million people, is recognized by operators in the cannabis industry,” CEO Klee Irwin said in a statement. “With this agreement, the third in one month, we will now have our THC augmented products in states with 2021 cannabis sales of around $8.7 billion.” The company noted that BeneLeaves is one of the largest in-state manufacturers and distributors in Ohio, with a reputation for quality of product and service, as well as a strong focus on driving rapid growth.

Gratomic Inc has provided an update on its planned 1,250-metre Diamond Drill campaign currently underway at its flagship Aukam graphite project in southern Namibia close to the port city of Luderitz. The Toronto-based graphite project developer said the drillholes are planned to intersect mineralization below the current mine adits. The company said the first hole it has drilled this year, AKD001, is a twin hole of AKR026 which was drilled towards the end of 2021.

Benchmark Metals Inc has reported results from exploration drilling at the Marmot Zone within its flagship, 100% owned Lawyers Gold-Silver Project in British Columbia, including 1.11 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) and 35.93 g/t silver (Ag) or 1.56 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq) over 77 metres (m). The Edmonton-based precious metals explorer said the Marmot discoveries, which more than double the length of a previous drill, appear to have similar high-grade mineralization to the company's multi-million-ounce gold-silver deposits located 3 kilometres to the northwest. "The Marmot Zone results continue to demonstrate the new discovery potential that could add more gold and silver mineralization to its established multi-million-ounce deposits,” Benchmark CEO John Williamson said in a statement.

ACME Lithium Inc said it has mobilized a drilling crew to its Clayton Valley lithium brine project in Nevada, in preparation for a Phase 1 program to better define the property’s potential. The first phase will consist of advancement of an HQ core hole up to 500 metres to assess lithology, permeability features, clay, sandstone and gravel content, and lithium brine potential prospectivity, according to Carson City-based ACME. The firm plans to install a temporary monitoring well in the core hole once drilling is completed, as part of what it has dubbed its Phase 1A program.

PyroGenesis Canada Inc has announced a joint evaluation with a major furnace producer whereby PyroGenesis' zero-emission plasma torches will be tested in the manufacturer’s scrap remelting and holding furnaces for the aluminum industry. The news follows last month’s business update from PyroGenesis, where it announced that it would take advantage of new opportunities in the aluminum market. The agreement involves a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) study to gather pre-test data and evaluate plasma for use in furnaces serving the secondary aluminum market—producers who re-melt and re-sell scrap and recycled aluminum. PyroGenesis said it has already received a purchase order for the CFD study, which is well underway with additional next steps already being planned.

FPX Nickel Corp has outlined plans for 2022 exploration drilling at its Decar Nickel District in British Columbia, saying this year's drilling will focus on expansion of mineralization at the Van Target, where an initial drilling program in 2021 confirmed a major new discovery and suggested the potential for Van to host a large-scale, standalone nickel deposit that could rival the deposit already delineated at Decar's Baptiste deposit. The mineral exploration company said this year's program will comprise about 3,000 metres of drilling over 8-10 holes, stepping out meaningfully to the south, southwest and west of the holes drilled in 2021.

Deepspatial Inc said it has joined the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC), a global not-for-profit trade association of private sector companies working in the geospatial ecosystem. The Toronto-based company said the goal of its membership is to strengthen the contributions of the geospatial industry to society and the global economy, advance global policy matters relevant to the geospatial sector, and create business opportunities for the geospatial industry. "Joining WGIC's global council brings Deepspatial closer to the forefront of the geospatial industry where we can keep up to date with trends and new technological advancements, as well as contribute to the growth and adoption of the geospatial industry as a whole," the company’s CEO Dr Rahul Kushwah said in a statement.

EverGen Infrastructure Corp, a renewable natural gas (RNG) company, has announced an acquisition that will mark the firm’s entry into the Ontario market and potentially tripling its RNG capacity. The company said it entered into definitive agreements with Northeast Renewables LP on May 20, 2022 that will result in its acquisition of a 50% interest in Project Radius, a portfolio of RNG development projects in Ontario for $1.5 million in cash. This investment, alongside its plan to acquire a 67% interest in Alberta-based GrowTec announced in March, positions EverGen as the leading RNG infrastructure platform in Canada, with a footprint in three of the four largest jurisdictions in the country with plans for further expansion.

Nova Royalty Corp has revealed that it is set to boost its portfolio, having secured the right to acquire part of an existing royalty on the Josemaria asset in Argentina, owned by major Lundin Mining, which is one of the most advanced large-scale copper development projects in the Americas. Nova has struck a purchase agreement with private sellers. The whole royalty is a 0.5% net profit interest (NPI) covering an area of a reserve estimate for Josemaria and is payable for 10 years, plus an additional US$2 million payment six months after two years of full production is reached. The portion to be acquired by Nova is subject to the finalization of an estate partitioning process in Argentina and the firm currently expects to acquire around 16.7% of the royalty (around 0.08325% NPI) for total consideration of US$2.4 million (including advanced payments), with a right of first refusal (ROFR) over a further 16.7% of the royalty (around 0.08325% NPI).

Recruiter.com Group Inc. has updated its artificial intelligence recruiting software platform to improve search capacity, email outreach and candidate tracking, the company announced. Chief among the updates is a new candidate tracker that helps companies better manage their candidate pipeline by curating a list of potential candidates and reviewing their backgrounds and skills. The candidate tracker dashboard lets employers see each candidate’s background in one integrated view, allowing them to quickly approve or deny candidates. Employers are also able to add notes when deciding whom to bring in for interviews, further streamlining the hiring process.

World Copper Ltd said it has raised $4,175,164.10 during the current fiscal year after the early exercise of a royalty option for its Zonia copper oxide project and subsequent buy-out by the company. Marble Financial Inc has announced that it will temporarily reduce the exercise price of its warrants to $0.10 for a period of 30 days ending on June 24, 2022. In accordance with the policies of the Canadian Stock Exchange (CSE), any warrants issued as compensation to agents and finders are not eligible for and are excluded from the exercise price reduction. If an eligible warrant is exercised at the reduced exercise price within the 30-day period, each common share issued on exercise will be accompanied by an additional common share purchase warrant entitling the holder to purchase one common share of the company at a price of $0.20 until December 24, 2023.
