Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) has once again demonstrated the prospectivity of its Mavis Lake Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada, hitting another broad intersection of visually apparent spodumene-bearing pegmatite in step-out drilling.
Targeted at pegmatite zone 6, step-out holes 14 and 15 both intersected widths of visual spodumene crystals, providing preliminary evidence of the area’s potential.
Hole 14: 17.5 metres of about 18% silvery-white, fine-to-large spodumene laths hosted from 143.25 to 160.75 metres of pegmatite, including:
- 0.4 metre interval of about 50% spodumene from 149.3 to 149.7 metres downhole;
- 1.2 metre interval of about 25% spodumene from 149.7 to 150.9 metres downhole; and
- 4.25 metre interval of about 30% spodumene from 156.4 to 160.65 metres downhole.
Hole 15: 9.7 metres of about 5% white-grey, fine-to-large spodumene laths hosted from 129.1 to 138.8 metres of pegmatite, including:
- 1.6 metre interval of about 20% spodumene from 133-134.6 metres downhole.
The company says 14 of 15 holes drilled during this program have intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatite mineralisation, although tenor and grade have yet to be determined via laboratory assay.
Results “reinforce potential prospectivity”
“It is extremely pleasing to see further significant intercepts along strike. These results follow on from our recent 23.1-metre interception in hole 13 and continue to reinforce the potential prospectivity at Mavis Lake,” Critical Resources managing director Alex Biggs said.
“We are increasingly excited with what the rest of the drill program will uncover, and we look forward to updating our shareholders as this drill program continues.”
Given the success of this inaugural drilling program, CRR has opted to begin an extended 10,000-metre drilling program, investigating 28 new targets with 11-high-priority areas to be investigated first.
Samples and core from the completed drill holes have been sent for analysis, expected in due course.
